Long Island Hiking - Bayard Cutting Arboretum

Long Island may be flat, but it offers some beautiful scenery and nature trails.

If you are looking for just a romantic, leisurely walk, check out the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. It has a tea house and a lovely walk through short trails side swept with flowers in bloom. There is a little isolated island as well, that is great to sit for some solitude and reflection or just to have a quiet place to read outdoors.

Some other nearby areas to check out are the South Shore Nature Center and the Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge. These are both very similar, in that they have short trails via boardwalks along marshes. The Nature Center offers classes and other activities. Both afforded deer sightings, but too quick to grab a picture this time.

The greatest gift you can give someone is your time.
